Action Hitchin's vision and aspiration to work in collaboration with North Herts Council's existing Riverside project, is to make this vision a reality with our Riverside Walkway Scheme, creating a peaceful and accessible route for residents and visitors to enjoy. The scheme includes a new footbridge constructed by North Herts Council, connecting Hermitage Road to Bridge Street and making more of our ancient caulk streams and local wildlife.

This ambitious project aims to transform the riverside area into a vibrant, attractive space that enhances Hitchin’s natural beauty. Key elements of the scheme include:
